What it is
A portfolio management system is the system of record for a manager's positions and valuations. finnerve's PMS keeps every position at lot level, strikes NAV in real time across currencies, monitors compliance against local regulation, and produces the audit-ready ledgers you report and are examined on — for 10,000+ portfolios across the region.
The difference is what sits around it. A global PMS treats local regulation as an afterthought and multi-currency as a plug-in; the PMS was built for the way the region actually invests, and it was built to be operated — by you or by us. Compliance is native, not a monthly report after the breach. Valuation is traceable to the exact price it was struck from. And the same reconciled positions feed everything downstream, so the operation stops being re-done at every handoff.
Who it's for
finnerve's PMS runs in production across the full range of buy-side operations — from a solo advisor to a fund administrator keeping dozens of vehicles. What they share: they've outgrown spreadsheets and won't spend three years on a re-platform.
- Fund administrators — dozens of vehicles across separately-administered books, unified into one position view with per-vehicle compliance scopes.
- Funds — private, mutual and public — defensible NAV, mandate limits and audit trails across every vehicle and strategy.
- Wealth managers — multi-currency, multi-custodian books where the client view has to be right to the cent.
- Family offices & multi-family offices — complex global books across listed, alternatives and direct holdings, in 12+ currencies with tax-lot accounting.
- Investment advisors (RIAs & independent advisors) — audit-ready positions and reporting without standing up an institutional operations team.
Run it yourself — or hand us the operation
Most PMS vendors sell you software and wish you luck. finnerve's PMS comes two ways, on the same platform and the same data.
Your team runs it.
You keep control of the daily operation — NAV, reconciliation, compliance — on a platform built to make that work fast and defensible. We deploy, train and hand over runbooks.
We run it for you.
Hand the entire back-office — reconciliation, NAV, compliance, reporting — to the finnerve service that already operates 10,000+ portfolios. You get the output, not the headcount.
Start self-operated and move to managed as you scale — or the reverse. The platform doesn't change when the operator does.
What it covers
The PMS owns the middle of the operation: valuation, position keeping, compliance and the daily close.
- Real-time NAV — continuous multi-currency valuation with defensible closures and full price-source provenance.
- Position keeping — lot-level positions across listed, fixed income, derivatives and alternatives, with cost basis and tax lots intact.
- Reconciliation — daily reconciliation against the custodian as source of truth, breaks flagged automatically before the desk opens.
- Compliance monitoring — mandate-level limits, breach alerts and audit trails, native to local regulation — not bolted on.
- Multi-entity accounting — multiple legal vehicles, intercompany reconciliation, consolidated reporting, per-entity permission scopes.
How it fits your stack
The PMS is the core of the finnerve operating layer. Market data and custody feed in; one reconciled record feeds everything downstream — and pushes positions and transactions to AML for monitoring. Adopt the core and add the rest as you need it.
Built to reach value fast
We don't hand you software and a manual, and we don't run the same generic playbook every vendor runs. finnerve implementations are led by operators and accelerated by our own assets — so you're generating value in weeks, not quarters.
Pre-built connectors for the regional custodians. Migration engines that replay and reconcile years of history automatically. AI agents that clear the exceptions a manual migration would leave for a person. The goal of every engagement is the same and it's the only one that matters: the shortest defensible path to a daily NAV you can stand behind — then we compound value from there. We scope to your fastest win first, and tell you plainly what it will take.
Security & audit controls
The PMS is built for a regulated environment and certified for it — every valuation traceable to its source, every change logged, access scoped per entity and per role.
- SOC 3 — the PMS platform runs on independently audited controls for security, availability and confidentiality.
- ISO/IEC 27001 — certified information-security management on the underlying PMS platform.
- Full audit trail — every position, valuation and override logged with who, what and when; defensible in a regulator exam.
- Price-source provenance — every NAV traces back to the exact price and feed it was struck from.
- Role- & entity-scoped access — permissions per legal vehicle and per user role.
- Encryption & data residency — encrypted in transit and at rest, with regional residency options and isolated client environments.
Ameris migrated 1,500 portfolios with zero breaks at cutover.
A Santiago-based asset & wealth manager ($1.6B AUM) moved off a legacy PMS and consolidated six custodian feeds into one ledger — two years of history replayed and reconciled to the cent, defended in audit on day one.
“We replayed two years of history end-to-end and reconciled it to the cent. That’s not a normal migration outcome.”
Frequently asked questions
We were planning to subscribe to the PMS and run it ourselves. Why hand the operation to finnerve?
Both work, and plenty of managers do run it with their own team — the distinction is just that the subscription gives you the platform, while operating a middle office on top of it is a separate job. The PMS is the platform and, if you want it, the team that runs 10,000+ portfolios on it every day. So you choose the model: subscribe and have your own operations team run it, or add the managed service and hand us the back office (reconciliation, NAV, compliance, reporting). Same subscription, same platform, same data — you decide who operates it, and you can move between the two as you scale. We're happy to model both against your consolidated portfolio so you see the trade-off in your own numbers.
Everyone promises "weeks, not quarters." What actually decides whether we go live quickly?
Mostly your operation — the shape of your history, your custodians, your instruments. Migrations tend to slow down on three things: history that won't reconcile, custodian feeds no one has mapped, and exceptions left for a person to clear by hand. We work through all three before cutover, with pre-built regional connectors, an engine that replays and reconciles years of history automatically, and AI agents that clear the exceptions a manual migration would leave open. The goal is a daily NAV you can stand behind, on the shortest defensible timeline for your migration.
Migrations are where PMS projects can go wrong. What actually breaks — and who carries the risk?
The usual failure point is cutover day, when the numbers don't tie to the custodian. That's why we don't cut over on faith. We replay your history end to end and reconcile it to the cent, running in parallel with your current system until NAV matches with no manual breaks — and only then do you switch. Ameris migrated 1,500 portfolios across six custodians this way: two years of history replayed, no breaks at cutover. You carry no risk on a go-live date, because the switch happens only once the parallel run has proven itself. We'll walk you through the exact plan for your migration beforehand.
Who else has made this move — and did they stay?
Names you'll recognise. At group level, the platform behind the PMS — operated globally by BRITech — runs 550+ institutional portfolios, including UBS, HSBC and Itaú. In LatAm, finnerve operates it directly for Vinci Compass, Ameris, Frontal Trust, Blum and AndeanCrown — regulated managers who moved their middle office onto it and stayed. Retention usually tells you more than any demo, which is why we're glad to arrange it: tell us how your portfolios are set up and we'll connect you with the reference closest to it.
Our data is our business. What do we own — and what happens if we decide to leave?
You own all of it, and you can leave whenever you choose — that's deliberate. Your positions, history and reference data are exportable in full, in standard formats, on request. No proprietary format, no data held hostage, no exit fees. We'd rather keep your business by operating well every quarter than by making it hard to leave.
Breaches make headlines. Why should our board be comfortable with the operation here?
A fair question, and the honest answer starts with track record: the same core that carries regulated bank and AGF portfolios carries yours. That comes with SOC 3 and ISO 27001, encryption in transit and at rest, access controlled down to the individual position, and an immutable audit trail on every action — who saw what, who changed what, and when. Your data is segregated, never co-mingled, and stays in the region your policy requires. We're glad to take your CISO through the architecture and controls in as much detail as they need.
