What it is
An investor experience is the surface where an end-investor sees their money: current positions and NAV, statements and tax documents, the status of an onboarding, and a line to their relationship manager. finnerve's investor app is that surface as a single product — a white-label mobile app and web portal under the manager's brand. It reads live positions and NAV from the portfolio system, pulls statements and documents from the record, routes secure messages through the CRM to the relationship manager, and opens onboarding through AML/KYC — all without becoming a second system of record.
The design principle is that the investor app consumes; it does not own. Nothing is re-keyed and no figure is a stale overnight copy — the positions an investor sees are the positions the portfolio system holds, current. Everything the investor touches is protected by biometric login and written to an audit trail, and the whole experience ships under your developer account, so the app-store listing and the web domain carry your name rather than ours. It runs today in beta on iOS and Android, with the web portal delivering the same product on a larger screen.
Who it's for
The investor app ships for managers whose clients expect to see their own money without phoning for it — from a retail fund base checking NAV daily to a family office with permission scopes per member.
- Asset managers with retail or sub-retail fund investors — a self-service window on NAV and positions that absorbs the inbound "where's my statement" volume.
- Wealth managers with HNWI books — a private channel to the relationship manager plus full portfolio visibility, in the manager's brand.
- Family & multi-family offices — a single controlled view of the family portfolio with per-member permissions and multi-vehicle consolidation.
- Funds distributing to investors (LPs) — statements, capital-account documents and tax certificates delivered to a vault instead of an email thread.
- Private banking & wealth units — a higher-touch surface with onboarding entry and a document vault, without adding operations headcount.
What it covers
The investor app covers everything an end-investor opens the app for, and nothing it shouldn't — because the systems of record stay upstream.
- Real-time positions & NAV — live holdings and performance read from the portfolio system, no overnight refresh, no stale numbers.
- Statements & document vault — statements, KYC documents and tax certificates, biometric-protected, downloadable and auditable.
- Secure messaging — end-to-end encrypted comms with the relationship manager, with read receipts, attachments and a compliance audit trail, routed through the CRM.
- Onboarding entry — new investors begin identity and KYC through AML/KYC from inside the same app, rather than a separate link.
- White-label mobile + web — your brand, colours and domain across the iOS app, the Android app and the web portal, shipped under your own developer account with biometric login.
How it fits your stack
The investor app is a thin client on top of systems you already trust. Live positions and NAV come from the portfolio system, the investor's identity and onboarding come from AML/KYC, and secure messages route through the CRM to the relationship manager. The investor app itself owns only the experience — white-label theming, authentication, the secure inbox and push — and delivers it across three surfaces: the iOS app, the Android app and the web portal, all under your brand. Your data never leaves your perimeter unintentionally.
From brand guidelines to a device in hand
Implementations are led by people who have run investor relations. White-label theming without forking the codebase. Links pre-wired to your PMS, AML/KYC and CRM. A branded build on a real device in the first sessions.
From there the product carries the routine load a manager would otherwise absorb by phone: statement delivery and NAV-publish push run automatically, the document vault fills from the record, and secure messaging replaces the "can you email me my position" call. The goal of every engagement is the same — the shortest path to an app your investors actually open, on your live book, in your brand — and each surface you add compounds the last. Bring us a real investor to look at a branded build and you'll learn more in ten minutes than in any deck.
Results
What good looks like: an investor base moves from quarterly PDF statements to a daily-opened window on their live book, and the inbound "where's my NAV" volume to the relationship-manager desk falls.
We'll bring the named reference closest to your investor base — and its real numbers — to the working session.
Frequently asked questions
We already send quarterly PDF statements. Why put an app in front of investors?
Because a quarterly PDF is a snapshot the investor can't interrogate, and every gap between statements becomes a phone call to the relationship manager. The investor app gives them a current view of their own positions and NAV, their documents in a vault, and a secure line to their RM — so the routine "where do I stand" questions answer themselves. The statement doesn't go away; it stops being the only window. Put a branded build in front of one of your actual investors in a working session and watch which questions simply disappear.
Is it genuinely our brand, or finnerve's app with our logo dropped in?
It's yours — 100% white-label, across your brand, colours and domain, and shipped under your own developer account so the App Store and Play Store listings carry your name, not ours. The theming happens without forking the codebase, so you get your identity and we still ship updates centrally. Investors never see finnerve. In a working session we'll theme a build to your brand guidelines and hand you the device.
It shows live positions — where does that data come from, and is it a second system of record?
The positions and NAV an investor sees are read live from your portfolio system; the investor app holds no book of its own. That's the whole design: it's a delivery surface, not a system of record, so there's nothing to re-key and nothing to reconcile against a stale overnight copy. What the investor sees is what your PMS holds, current.
How secure is the messaging and the document vault?
Messaging is end-to-end encrypted between the investor and the relationship manager, routed through the CRM, with read receipts, attachments and a compliance audit trail; the document vault and every session are protected by biometric login. No third-party data broker sits in the path, and nothing leaves your perimeter unintentionally. Bring your security or compliance lead to a working session and we'll walk the encryption, the audit trail and the auth model end to end.
It's in beta. Is that safe to put in front of our investors?
We'll be straight about it: the investor app is in beta, running on iOS and Android under a developer account, and we roll it out the way a careful manager would — a build skinned in your brand and loaded with sample data first, then a controlled pilot with a small investor group before any wide release. You see the product, and the path, before a single client does. Book a working session and we'll show you exactly what beta means here and how the rollout is staged.
Mobile and web — is that two products to build and maintain?
No — it's one product across two surfaces. The web portal is the same investor experience on a larger screen, drawing from the same stack and the same white-label theming, so there's no separate codebase, separate data feed or separate brand to keep in sync. An investor who starts on the phone and continues on the laptop sees one continuous view. In a working session we'll show the same account on mobile and web side by side.
